Why Choose Us

Why Businesses Choose Jones Blacksmith for Dedicated Internet Access

DIA is a significant infrastructure investment. We make sure you get the right circuit from the right carrier at the best possible terms — and we stand by you after it's live.

🌐

Broad Vendor Network

We have established relationships with 50+ carriers offering dedicated circuits — including fiber, ethernet, and fixed wireless DIA. By comparing options across our full vendor network, we identify the best available circuit at your location and negotiate competitive pricing on your behalf.

🎯

Expert Consultation

Our dedicated connectivity specialists guide you through every technical detail — from access type and port speeds to SLA terms, latency guarantees, and failover options. We translate carrier jargon into clear business decisions so you always know exactly what you're getting and why.

🔧

Ongoing Support

Your dedicated account manager remains your single point of contact after go-live — escalating any carrier issues, managing SLA credits, and proactively reviewing your circuit performance. When you have a problem, you call us — not a carrier helpdesk.

⚙️

Customized Solutions

No two DIA requirements are identical. Whether you need a single high-capacity circuit, a multi-location ring topology, diverse path routing for maximum resilience, or a bundled DIA + SD-WAN solution — we build the right architecture around your actual business needs.

Add-Ons

Enhance Your Dedicated Internet Access

Pair your DIA circuit with these powerful add-on services to build a complete, resilient, and secure network infrastructure for your business.

Wireless Backup
📶
Wireless Backup

Automatically failover to a 4G LTE or 5G wireless connection the moment your DIA circuit experiences any disruption. Wireless backup ensures your business stays online even during fiber cuts or carrier outages — with near-instant switchover and no manual intervention required.

Data Center Services
🏭
Data Center Services

Extend your DIA circuit directly into a colocation or managed data center environment. We coordinate carrier cross-connects, cage provisioning, and last-mile delivery to ensure your critical infrastructure is housed in a secure, power-redundant facility with direct carrier-grade connectivity.

Add to Your Plan
Network Firewall
🛡️
Network Firewall

Protect your dedicated connection with enterprise-grade next-generation firewall (NGFW) capabilities. Includes deep packet inspection, application-layer filtering, intrusion prevention, and advanced threat protection — all managed and monitored so your team doesn't need to be security experts.

Network Monitoring
📊
Network Monitoring

Gain complete visibility into your circuit's performance with real-time traffic analytics, latency and jitter reporting, utilization trending, and automated alerting. Our network operations center proactively identifies anomalies before they become outages — keeping your team informed and your SLAs protected.

IPv6
🌐
IPv6

Future-proof your network with native IPv6 addressing alongside your existing IPv4 allocation. As IPv4 address space continues to deplete globally, IPv6 ensures your infrastructure remains scalable, modern, and compatible with next-generation internet standards — with dual-stack support for smooth transition.

Add to Your Plan
SD-WAN
🔗
SD-WAN

Layer software-defined WAN intelligence over your dedicated circuit to intelligently route traffic across multiple links — prioritizing business-critical applications, optimizing cloud performance, and enabling seamless failover. SD-WAN transforms your DIA from a single pipe into a smart, adaptive network fabric across all your locations.

  • What is Dedicated Internet Access and how is it different from regular broadband?+
Standard broadband (cable, DSL, or shared fiber) divides bandwidth among many users in your area — meaning speeds slow during peak periods. Dedicated Internet Access provides an exclusive, private circuit between your premises and the internet backbone. You receive 100% of the contracted bandwidth, guaranteed, at all times — regardless of what other businesses in your area are doing.
  • What does symmetrical mean and why does it matter?+
Symmetrical means your upload speed matches your download speed. Most consumer and shared business connections offer much slower upload speeds. For businesses that run cloud applications, VoIP, video conferencing, backup services, or host servers, fast and consistent upload bandwidth is just as critical as download — DIA provides both equally.
  • What is an SLA and what does 99.99% uptime actually mean?+
An SLA (Service Level Agreement) is a contractual commitment from the carrier about performance. 99.99% uptime allows for approximately 52 minutes of downtime per year — compared to 99.9% which allows over 8 hours. Enterprise DIA plans can reach 99.999%, allowing fewer than 5 minutes of annual downtime. SLA breaches typically result in financial service credits automatically applied to your bill.
  • How long does it take to install a dedicated circuit?+
Installation timelines depend on the carrier, access type, and your building's existing infrastructure. Ethernet-over-fiber in a carrier-served building can be as fast as 15–30 business days. New fiber construction to a previously unserved location can take 60–120 days. We manage this process proactively and keep you updated throughout — requesting expedites where possible.
  • What happens if my DIA circuit goes down?+
We recommend pairing every DIA circuit with a wireless backup solution for exactly this scenario. In the event of a circuit failure, your Jones Blacksmith account manager immediately escalates to the carrier's priority queue on your behalf, monitors restoration progress, and ensures SLA credits are issued if applicable. With our Wireless Backup add-on, your business continues operating while the primary circuit is restored.
  • Can DIA be used across multiple locations?+
Absolutely. We regularly design and deploy multi-site DIA architectures — including hub-and-spoke topologies, MPLS/IP VPN configurations, and SD-WAN overlays that connect all your locations into a single, intelligently managed network. Our team coordinates all carriers across all sites from a single point of contact.
  • Does my business qualify for Dedicated Internet Access?+
DIA is available to businesses in most commercial areas where fiber infrastructure exists. Availability varies by carrier and specific address. Contact us for a free location assessment — we'll check availability across all our carrier partners and identify the fastest and most cost-effective circuit options for your specific premises within 24–48 hours.
